What is Boss Babe Network?

We’re a lifestyle brand made with the busy boss babe in mind! Whether it’s useful professional development or fun social events to network at — we encourage women to “take what they need”.

We can lead busy lives as entrepreneurs, businesswomen, moms, students, caretakers, etc. The journey can be a wild one, and there’s simply nothing like a community of women to share your triumphs and challenges with.

We were founded by Indianapolis local, Mariah Oliver. As a she was finishing up her master’s degree at IUPUI, she wanted to get more involved in the community to network and engage, but often felt like she didn’t belong in certain rooms. As a young woman who didn’t even own a pantsuit and had no previous networking experience — she had no clue where to begin.

She mustered up the courage to throw Boss Babe Brunch in July 2020 (before the actual Boss Babe Network brand was born) to allow ALL women to come as they are. The speakers did not have presentations and kept it real with the guests about their experiences. The good eats and bottomless mimosas allowed everyone to kick back, relax, and build relationships naturally.

After the event, the positive feedback was overwhelming, and in turn, showed her the NEED for something like this on a continuous basis.

Four months later, Mariah launched Boss Babe Network in November 2020. We’ve been growing as an organization by launching our BBN Membership in June 2022, allowing boss babes to stay connected all year long — and not just at one off events!

Not a member? No worries. We still host a series of open events each year, like Boss Babe Brunch!

There are 3 main pillars on how we serve women through BBN:

Shop

A large portion of our platform consists of highlighting local women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

Learn

We learn through contracting women in our community for relevant professional development workshops, blog contributions, and through our resources hub.

Connect

We host social events throughout the year that boss babes in the community can attend to network and build relationships.

Rebeca "Bash" Barron is an event stylist, who has worked in the industry for 10 years but started Bash By Barron in 2020. Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a wedding planner but also throw the best parties in town. As my business kept growing, I just knew that my passion was to create an experience and the bash of a lifetime for my clients in whatever capacity they needed me to. This is why I have taken courses and steps necessary to better myself and be able to offer a variety of services ranging from balloon styling to bartending or full wedding planning.

Outside of work, I’m a single mom of two girls, Kassandra & Lucia who support me in every way possible including coming to work at events with me. It is so important that my babes see the hard work and dedication that goes into accomplishing your goals and how sweet the reward can be, but also the importance of leaning on other women when needed to get you there.

At events, you will more likely see me running around between set-ups and coordinating, can't wait to party with you all!

Our Promise to You

We remain dedicated to using this platform to uplift and empower as many women and women-owned businesses as we can. In addition, we promise that BBN will be a brand that stands up for women’s rights and minority issues. After all, this IS a woman-owed and black-owned business, and we will not be apologetic about the views on such matters.
