Kionna Louise Walker, AIA, NOMA, is an Indiana registered architect, educator, and visionary leader. With a Bachelor's degree from Ball State University and a Master's in Architecture from the Boston Architectural College, Kionna has garnered accolades including 40 under 40 of the Indianapolis Business Journal, 100 Heroes of the United Way of Central Indiana, and AIA Indiana's Walter S. Blackburn Award.
As the founder of Next Great Architects, LLC, Kionna channels her passion for architecture into empowering the next generation of designers. Through her engaging curriculum, she has introduced and nurtured over 6,000 students from kindergarten through college to the art and science of architecture. Additionally, Kionna's impact extends beyond the classroom; she has over 18 years of experience in architecture with projects such as schools, libraries, and multi-family and mixed-use developments.
Currently serving as an instructor of architecture at Ball State University, Kionna continues to inspire and educate aspiring architects, guiding them toward excellence and innovation. With her blend of expertise, passion, and dedication, Kionna Louise Walker, AIA exemplifies the transformative power of architecture in shaping communities and inspiring minds.
She is the 5th African American Woman to become a licensed architect in Indiana and the 1st African American Woman to be an Instructor of Architecture at Ball State University.
